The team will arrive in Santo Domingo on Saturday the 4th and travel west (3-4 hrs.) to San Juan de la Maguana. Team members will stay in a guesthouse with dormitory style lodging. The guesthouse staff is accustomed to caring for other faith-based, American teams throughout the year and will provide linens, towels, and a complimentary laundry service. Meals are also served at the guesthouse. On Sunday, team members will spend the day preparing medicines for the week. An established medical clinic is also located on the guesthouse premises. Each day the team will travel to poverty-stricken villages to hold medical clinics. The team may host a Vacation Bible School for the children during the week. Plans are not confirmed. Friday the 10th, the team will return to Santo Domingo for sightseeing and tourist opportunities and depart for home on Saturday the 11th.
Dr. Hannay is a retired family physician. This will be his 23rd VIMM trip serving primarily in the Dominican Republic and Honduras since 2005.
